A primary dental qualification (such as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery), or its international equivalent, plus a minimum of one years’ post-qualification experience in general dental practice or equivalent is desirable.
English language requirements
The course is provided in English and so it is important that in order to maximize your learning experience and success, regardless of your nationality or country of residence, you should demonstrate a good level of English. As a guide, the following English language tests are a useful guide for you to determine your level of language competency:
• IELTS Academic: Score of 6.0 in writing and speaking modules
• TOEFL-internet-Based Test (including Special Home Edition): total 80 (at least 20 in each module).
• CAE and CPE: total 170 (at least 176 in each module)
• Trinity ISE: ISE III with a pass in all four components
We also accept an undergraduate or postgraduate degree that has been taught and assessed in English in a majority English speaking country, as defined by UK Visas and Immigration:
- UKVI list of majority English speaking countries
- We also accept a degree that has been taught and assessed in English from a university on our list of approved universities in non-majority English speaking countries.
- If you are not a national of a majority English speaking country, then your degree must be no more than three and a half years old at the beginning of your programme of study.
